GWU Joins Lawsuit Against NIH Funding Policy—Our Response to the Administration
On February 11, 2025, the George Washington University (GWU) administration sent out an email announcing their involvement in a lawsuit against the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The lawsuit, backed by the Association of American Universities (AAU) and other organizations, challenges NIH’s proposed limitation on the reimbursement of “indirect costs,” which fund critical research infrastructure, operations, and personnel.
The lawsuit argues that NIH’s policy would significantly harm the progress of life-saving research, hinder improvements in public health, deprive students of valuable learning opportunities, and stifle innovation and economic growth.
While we understand and acknowledge the importance of maintaining funding for essential research, it is crucial that we examine the broader context in which this issue arises—especially when the very institutions advocating for this funding have been complicit in manufacturing harmful ideologies that can threaten both public safety and national security.
Our Response to the GWU Administration
To the GWU administration, including @President Granberg @Provost Bracey, and @Dean Coleman:
Your complicity and collaboration in “manufacturing knowledge” to advance pro-Hamas propaganda and spread antisemitism have resulted in life-threatening consequences. These actions have traumatized the community, undermined public health, deprived students of valuable learning opportunities, and cultivated radical cells that now pose a direct threat to national security.
While you are joining a legal fight for NIH funding, you are simultaneously enabling an environment that fosters extremism and terror. The contradiction between advocating for research funding and endorsing organizations that spread hate and violence is not only damaging—it is irresponsible. You must take a hard stance against those who use educational platforms to promote terrorist propaganda, which only deepens societal divides and undermines the principles of education and truth.

Let’s remind GWU that they continued their propaganda after announcing in July 2023 severing their ties with mesa, but mesa is still active and alive.
GWU administration engages in covert tactics. They say one thing and do another.
Keep Pressing ON!
We call on @Trump, @Vance, @NIH, and @RFK to press on!
Stop 161 million in NIH funding to GWU and all universities promoting Hamas propaganda!
Research funding must not support institutions that foster extremist ideologies or radicalization. Universities promoting antisemitism, terrorism, and hate jeopardize national security and public health.
@GWU, you have compromised the integrity of your campus. It is time to halt funding until universities align with values that serve the greater good.
We demand action, accountability, and responsible education that ensures safety and progress for all. Universities must prioritize enforcing state and federal laws to protect the well-being of every individual and create a positive, inclusive environment.
